Monday Night Football: Steelers vs. Bengals Spread

The Monday Night Football Steelers vs. Bengals spread had Pittsburgh at -4.5 at SBG Global.  The Steelers were getting 75 percent of the spread action in this game.  The 41 total was getting around 65 percent on the OVER.

The Bengals face the Steelers on a 4-game losing streak. Cincinnati has surrendered 138.3 rushing yards per game in its last three contests.  The Steelers, however, have pass defense that's giving up 261.5 yards per game over its last four.

Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer is going through one of the roughest stretches of his career. So far, he has 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions while having a terrible time connecting with Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco.

"Some of the things that have been good to us in the past and been our staples aren't there for us," Palmer said. "That's not an excuse, that's the NFL. You can't rely on something that was good last week or last year."

The real concern for Cincinnati: Pittsburgh is 14-5 Against The Spread versus CINCINNATI since 1992.  Cincinnati actually covered both their games last season but this was a Bengals team that won their division.  The old underperforming Bengals team appears to have returned.  Pittsburgh had covered the five previous spreads.

Pittsburgh has had some trouble ATS on the road and against teams with losing records. They are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games as a road favorite and 2-6 ATS vs. a team with a losing record.

While the Bengals are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games as a home underdog, they are also 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. loss.  And in home games overall, Cincinnati is 1-6 ATS.

The Bengals are 1-6 ATS vs. the AFC in their last seven games.
