Miami Hurricane Red Zone

For 122 straight weeks in the NFL, at least one former Miami Hurricane has scored a touchdown. This statistics to me is astounding; the reason for this is the objectivity of each and every week in the NFL. On any given Sunday, anything can happen; and that means the best players in the NFL not getting into the end zone. Chris Johnson and Adrian Peterson do not score 17 touchdowns a season, which means there are weeks where they do not score, and the same should go for Miami alumni. With approximately 42 players currently playing in the NFL, this streak of 122 weeks is very impressive considering the other hundreds of players in the NFL.

Here is a list of the current NFL Hurricane alumni that are making the streak what it is today:

Frank Gore

Devin Hester

Andre Johnson

Willis McGahee

Santana Moss

Greg Olsen

Clinton Portis

Jeremy Shockey

Reggie Wayne

Kellen Winslow

That is only the list of the offensive side of the ball that currently score touchdowns on a pretty frequent basis. Once I read this statistic, it made me sincerely want to keep up with this streak and check on these 11 guys this upcoming season. On the defensive side of the ball, Hurricane alumni include guys like: Ray Lewis, Jon Beason, Brandon Meriweather, Ed Reed, Antrel Rolle, Jonathan Vilma, Vince Wilfork and D.J. Williams.

With the absence of a quarterback on this roster, I am going to go out on a limb and say the Hurricane alumni could beat a real majority of NFL teams. When you are watching football next Sunday, and for the rest of the season, try to keep track of these guys and see if Miami can continue to conquer the odds and make it through another full season scoring every week.
