These are two of the hottest teams and surprise division leaders in the NFL face off with Detroit at 7-2 Straight Up and Arizona at 8-1.  The Cardinals have been covering most of their games with a record of 7-2 Against The Spread. Detroit comes into this game with a 5-4 ATS record.

The Cardinals beat Arizona at home last season by four points and destroyed Detroit 38-10 the prior season.

The Lions are 2-7 Against The Spread in their last 9 games following a ATS win while the Cardinals are 16-5 ATS in their last 21 vs. NFC and 11-3 ATS in their last 14 games after accumulating less than 90 yards rushing in their previous game.

Arizona backup quarterback Drew Stanton has only seven career starts since being selected in the second round of the 2007 Draft by none other than Detroit.  He has a completion rate of just 49.5 percent this season.  Stanton, in fact, has the worst completion percentage of any passer with at least 80 attempts.  It should be noted that he is yet to throw an interception while his Total QBR of 67.7 is actually higher than Carson Palmer's (64.8).  The Lions allow the fewest fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks on the season.

Stanton will need to step in for Carson Palmer, who suffered a season-ending knee injury in last week's 31-14 victory over St. Louis.

In their past five games, the Cards have allowed just 11.2 fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks, and this does not bode well for Lions starting quarterback Matthew Stafford.

The Lions defense has allowed the eighth-fewest fantasy points per game to opposing backs for the season.

The Cards have allowed the third-fewest rushing yards so far this season with 3.4 yards-per-carry allowance.  Opposing backfields have struggled to score (second-fewest points per game) in facing the Cards.

Arizona has allowed the ninth-most fantasy points to opposing wideouts, which makes for a promising day where the likes of Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate, the later of whom leads all wide receivers with 454 yards after the catch this season.  The Cardinals have allowed the most yards after the catch to opposing wide receivers.
