Jaguars Allen Hurns Makes Fantasy NFL Players Day….And He Makes History

The Jaguars wide receiver Allen Hurns made the historic ranks of Fantasy NFL with his improbable 23 fantasy points against the Eagles Sunday.  Philadelphia bettors breathed a sigh of relief once the Eagles managed to erase an initial 17-point deficit and, not only come from behind, but cover the 11-point spread as well.

Among NFL wide receiver debuts, Hurns' 23 fantasy points tied for sixth all time with Mike Siani (Raiders), 1972 Week 1, 23 points versus Steelers.

Anquan Boldin of the Cardinals holds the all time record for his Week 1 performance back in 2003, scoring 31 fantasy points.

Louis Lipps of the Steelers scored the second most at 30 with his 1984 Week 1 play against the Chiefs.

Jim Brim of the Vikings in Week 3 of the 1987 season scored 29 against Green Bay, and both Bobby Johnson of the Giants and Rick Upchurch of the Broncos are tied for 4th with their 25 points each.  Johnson did it against the Eagles in Week 1 of the 1984 season while Upchurch did so against the Chiefs in Week 1 of the 1975 season.
