With 16 games played, oddsmakers expect the Green Bay Packers to have no more than 4 losses on the 2012 regular season with the Wins Total betting odds set at OVER/UNDER 11.5 at Bookmaker.eu. Both the OVER/UNDER feature a line of -115.
Likewise, the Packers are slight favorites to win the 2013 Super Bowl at 4/1 odds over the New England Patriots.
It’s not as if the Packers have a ‘soft’ schedule (scroll down to see the full 2012 regular season schedule below). They will play two road games against what should be tough divisional opponents Chicago and Detroit.
The Packers face San Francisco at home, a team that only lost three games last season and is being touted early as a Super Bowl bound hopeful.
They also host New Orleans and play on the road against the New York Giants.
While it’s true the Packers only endured one loss during the 2011 regular season, the year prior Green Bay had 6 losses. They went on to win the Super Bowl that season. Last season the Packers played only five games against teams that finished with records above .500. Their lone loss was against the under .500 Kansas City Chiefs on the road. Green Bay just barely got by the eventual Super Bowl champion New York Giants on the road with a 3-point win. They would then go on to lose against those same Giants in the first round of the Playoffs at home.

This season, the Packers will play in 7 games where the opponent went over .500 last season.
The UNDER 11.5 might be a safe bet as it would be hard to fathom Green Bay going two years straight where they sweep division opponents.
Wins on the road in Houston and New York will be tough considering the Texans have upgraded both their offense and defense and the Giants are, after all, the reigning Super Bowl champions.
Throw in a loss against either San Francisco or New Orleans at home and a division loss on the road against either Detroit or Chicago and we are left with a record of 12-4.
