Fantasy Week 4 NFL Values: Blake Bortles, Matthew Stafford

When it comes to Fantasy Week 4 NFL values, the Jaguars Blake Bortles is being recommended just about everywhere.

Star Fantasy Leagues Fantasy Football

From the New York Times:

The Jaguars’ Blake Bortles has the most upside of the group, becoming the starter after only 10 quarters of his rookie season. Bortles’s play during the second half of last week’s game is likely a microcosm of what’s to come. He completed 58 percent of his passes for two touchdowns, two interceptions and 223 yards. Bortles has three capable wideouts, including two fellow rookies, whose chemistry will grow with the young gunner. The Jaguars’ offense will benefit if Toby Gerhart can generate anything on the ground, but even without that we have Bortles finishing in the Top 18 of fantasy quarterbacks.

From FantasyPros.com:

Bortles first start will be against the Chargers in San Diego on Sunday. The Chargers are allowing an average of 20.3 Fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks, so he should put up decent numbers. For now, he should be owned in all two-quarterback leagues.

Detroit’s Matthew Stafford hasn’t been putting up amazing numbers but he’ll be facing a Jets team this week that has allowed the 4th most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks.

The Packers Edie Lacey will be another hot commodity in Week 4.

From FantasyPros.com:

If you own Lacy, you should be optimistic this week. Lacy scored a touchdown in both match-ups against Chicago last season, with an average of 17 fantasy points in those 2 games. While 2 games isn't a large sample size, the numbers don't lie. Per Matthew Berry, the Bears are giving up a league-high 5.3 ypc since the start of LAST season. If Lacy doesn't get it done here, you have reason to begin to worry. Lacy has faced three teams who are terrific against the run. Between Seattle, NYJ, and Detroit, that's no easy task. Start Lacy with confidence this week.
