The Dallas Cowboys odds to win the 2012 NFC East were coming in at around 3/1 while their odds to win the 2013 Super Bowl were at 25/1.  The Cowboys were favored by oddsmakers to win UNDER 9 regular season games at -130 though much of the betting public was on the OVER 9 regular season games at EVEN odds.  Bookmaker.eu was offering up to $500 in FREE BETS for qualified new customers.  Learn more here

Gambling911.com will begin by examining the regular season schedule below for the Dallas Cowboys to get a sense of how tough things might get for Dallas.

It certainly won’t be easy from the get-go as the Cowboys make their way to the Meadowlands where they will face the reigning Super Bowl champion Giants.  New York is a -3 point favorite to kick off the 2012 regular season against Dallas

Dallas Cowboys 2012 Schedule:

Week 1: at New York Giants (Wed.)
Week 2: at Seattle
Week 3: Tampa Bay
Week 4: Chicago (Mon.)
Week 5: BYE
Week 6: at Baltimore
Week 7: at Carolina
Week 8: New York Giants
Week 9: at Atlanta
Week 10: at Philadelphia
Week 11: Cleveland
Week 12: Washington (Thur.)
Week 13: Philadelphia
Week 14: at Cincinnati
Week 15: Pittsburgh
Week 16: New Orleans
Week 17: at Washington

Within the division, it is easy to see Dallas winning at least three of those games.

At home, Dallas will face three teams outside the division that played under .500 last season.

On the road, the Cowboys have the ability on paper to beat Seattle, Carolina and Cincinnati, though it really is tough to see Dallas going above 9 games unless they dramatically improve.

Offense is expected to improve somewhat with DeMarco Murray.  They also have Dez Bryant, Miles Austin, Laurent Robinson, Jason Witten and Tony Romo.  Improvements at the cornerback position should help boost the defense as well.

The big question remains the coaching and, while this could be the Cowboys breakout year, this is what has been said year after year after year and all they’ve gotten is one regular season above nine wins in the last four and two in the last eight.  Why should this upcoming season be any different with the status quo?

Oddsmakers have the Giants and last season’s underachieving Eagles as the top dogs in the NFC East with most of the early betting action on Philadelphia to win the NFC East Division at Bookmaker at +115 odds, paying $11.50 for every $10 bet.
