The Colts vs. Bears line was listed at Chicago -9.5 for Week 1 of the 2012 NFL season at BetOnline, where qualified new customers can receive up to $900 in FREE CASH here.  The spread on this game seemed about right though it appears as if Chicago may be a half point overrated early on.

These two teams have not played one another over the past three seasons, thus making it difficult to review any past head-to-head historical data.  Since 1992, these teams have alternated wins and losses.

Likewise, both teams should seem some improvement.  Some improvement might not be enough for Indianapolis, which will have to deal with another shaky secondary and a questionable defense.  Colts fans can look forward to next season when the franchise will spend big and rookie quarterback Andrew Luck will hope to repeat history in Indianapolis where another one-time rookie, Peyton Manning, turned this team into one of the best in the league after his 3-13 debut.

The Colts were being offered up with an OVER/UNDER of 5.5 regular season wins with the UNDER a -120 favorite (the OVER pays EVEN odds).

Athlon.com believes the UNDER is the most likely scenario

A weak schedule with the likes of Cleveland, Miami and Buffalo at home suggests that outscoring some foes is doable. Luck has enough talented targets, and the play-calling should protect him while the line and run game shake out. The team’s 99.6 yards rushing per game ranked 26th, but the Colts trailed most of the time. They managed 4.2 yards per carry, which would be enough to help Luck. Manning went 3–13 as a rookie with proven stars like wide receiver Marvin Harrison and running back Marshall Faulk. Luck will find a way to win a few, then the Colts will tinker again and take the next step toward building a playoff contender in 2013.

As for the Bears, this is a team that the betting public believes can actually win the 2013 Super Bowl (they are getting the most bets on this future at some books).

They have an OVER/UNDER of 9.5.
