The Chiefs vs. Patriots betting odds for this Thursday Night Football game, kicking off the new NFL season, had New England as a big 9 point favorite.  The line has skyrocketed from -7 in the last few days.

Michael Reiss of ESPN.com says that, with no real challengers and a roster seemingly improved over last year, don’t be surprised to see New England rattle off another 13-win season.  They were coming in with an OVER/UNDER of 12.5, slightly favored to win OVER that number at -115.

The Chiefs, meanwhile, have won 11 games or more in three of their last four seasons.  They were slightly favored to win UNDER 9 regular season games, a good bet on the OVER perhaps.  We just don’t see them winning the Week 1 game, though the loss of Julian Edelman gives them some hope.

J.J. McCarthy Drafted Number 3 Odds to Patriots

To be clear, the Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy is pretty certain to land in Minnesota.  But what if the New England Patriots shock us and pick McCarthy at Number 3 before the Vikings get their opportunity at No. 5?

Bet on Jared Verse Draft Position

Jared Verse had an over/under selection number of 15.5 with CBS Sports believing the Florida State EDGE will be chosen by the Seattle Seahawks at No. 16.
