Chiefs Jump Up in Week 17 NFL Power Rankings

The Kansas City Chiefs had moved to number 3 in the ESPN NFL Power Rankings ahead of the final regular season Week 17.  Their odds of winning Super Bowl 51 had great value at 12-1, fifth longest after the Patriots, Cowboys, Steelers and Falcons.

From ESPN.com:

Travis Kelce has recorded 100 receiving yards in five of the Chiefs' past six games. In that time, Kelce leads the NFL in receiving yards with 651, which is actually 89 more than the next-closest receiver. Looks like nobody is catching Kelce.

The Chiefs now look like the better team in the AFC West after Oakland’s starting quarterback Derek Carr went down with a season-ending injury.

Houston finished the 2016 NFL regular season with an AFC South victory but enters the Playoff picture with an unproven quarterback in Tom Savage.

Likewise, while the Dolphins have made the Playoffs for the first time since 2008, they will do so without Ryan Tannehill.  He too suffered a season-ending injury three weeks ago.  Backup and veteran quarterback Matt Moore has played admirably in his place, however.

Facing off against the AFC North winning Steelers and AFC East winning Patriots will likely be the biggest challenge.
