According to a Twitter survey conducted by BetOnline’s Dave Mason, the Carolina Panthers Super Bowl betting line was most likely going to close between -6 and -6.5 based on the gambling public’s input.

Not surprising as some 85 percent of those betting the big game were backing Carolina at an 80% clip with the Panthers a -6 point favorite.  Some books will feel compelled to move up at least another half point in order to balance out the action.  At -5.5 and lower, the action was 80 percent to just shy of 90 percent on the Panthers.

435 people had taken part in the BetOnline survey with 41 percent of those believing the line will end up between -6 and -6.5.  17 percent felt it could close higher.
