It wasn’t quite a done deal but Betfair had the odds of Carlos Tevez NOT remaining in Man City set at 3/25 odds and his heading to Brazilian club Corinthians at 1/4 odds.  Tevez staying put pays just shy of 3/1 odds.  Few of the British bookmakers were still offering transfer odds on Tevez at press time.

Man City wants to see the money, and they want to see £47 million, not the £44 million quoted in news reports.  If Corinthians cannot prove they have the funds, the deal may collapse.

Corinthians have denied any deal is set.

Despite reports that Corinthians' bid of £44 million with £4 million in add-ons had been accepted, the Brazilian side released a statement on Monday that said: ''Manchester City has not accepted Corinthians' offer for the player... In fact, the club (City) sent a counter-proposal in which the Premier League club asks for changes in the form of payment and also in the total value of the transaction.''

The deal must be complete by the end of the transfer window on Wednesday.
