Last year’s Chiefs team was one of the league’s biggest surprises.

This is a team full of talent that suggests they won’t be some one-hit wonder.  Kansas City averaged just over 164 yards per game, leading the NFL in rushing.  Jamaal Charles averaged 6.4 yards per carry and rushed  for 1,467 yards and five touchdowns. Dwayne Bowe's performance last season included 72 catches for 1,162 yards along with 15 touchdowns.

They also have a solid quarterback in Matt Cassel who completed nearly 61 percent of his attempts. He finished with 27 touchdowns to 7 interceptions.

And something else to seriously consider, their only home loss was a meaningless game to their division rivals, the Raiders, last season.  Right there, one can speculate they should easily win at least 8 regular season games.

Between the Bears, Colts, Lions and Raiders, the Chiefs should be able to pull off at least one of these road winsand they should have no problem beating Denver during the final week if that game matters.

Good thing Kansas City played so well at home last season, they have an absolutely brutal road schedule that leads us to believe they’ll be lucky to go 9-7 despite all the plaudits we’ve given to the Chiefs thus far.

Futures Betting Value Index:

Kansas City Chiefs to win the 2012 Super Bowl 60/1 – Fair

Kansas City Chiefs to win the AFC West 4/1 (+350) – Fair

Kansas City Chiefs to win OVER 7.5 regular season games at -130 – Very Good

The Raiders finally started to look good last season but they still can’t hold onto a head coach.

They should have one of the best rushing attacks in the NFL and a decent quarterback in Jason Campbell.  The Raiders also have some of the best value when it comes to betting futures especially with the regular season wins totals.  We see them potentially able to win 11 games.

Future Betting Value Index:

Raiders to win the 2012 Super Bowl 100/1 – Good

Raiders odds to win the 2011 AFC West – Very Good

Raiders odds to win OVER 7 regular season games at +115 - Excellent

Sorry Denver Broncos fans.  There’s nothing worth betting this season when it comes to your team.  And many of you sadly might agree.
