Bears Packers Spread Sees Public Backing Green Bay 55 Percent

Wednesday night’s Bears Packers spread was coming in between -4.5 and -5 in favor of the home team Green Bay Packers depending on the book.  WagerWeb.com was offering Green Bay at -5.  55 percent of those wagering on the spread were backing the favorite.

The line on this game opened at -7 at some books before quickly being brought down.

While Green Bay is at home following a rare loss, the betting public had pegged the Chicago Bears with the best potential to win the 2013 Super Bowl early on, at least in terms of the money coming in on this particular future wager, which currently had the Bears at 15/1 odds to win the Super Bowl

The Bears were still listed with 3/1 odds of winning the NFC North.  Green Bay remained the 1/2 favorite.

To be clear, the Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy is pretty certain to land in Minnesota.  But what if the New England Patriots shock us and pick McCarthy at Number 3 before the Vikings get their opportunity at No. 5?
