Arizona Cardinals vs. Kansas City Chiefs Spread

The Arizona Cardinals vs. Kansas City Chiefs spread was listed anywhere from -8 to -9 in favor of the home team Chiefs.  60 percent of those betting the spread were backing Arizona.  Nearly 85 percent of those betting the money line liked Arizona, with a payout potential of $29 for every $10 bet with a Cardinals outright win.  The total had nearly 90 percent on the OVER 44.

The surprising Chiefs lost badly last week to Denver while Arizona comes into this game 3-6 after getting beaten by Seattle.   The good news for Chiefs backers is that they are 4-1 Against The Spread in their last 5 games following a Straight Up loss while the Cardinals are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games following a SU loss of more than 14 points.

Matt Cassel threw for a career-high 469 yards and 4 TD in the loss to the Broncos on Sunday. He is just the 2nd player in the Super Bowl era (since 1966) to throw for 400 yards, 4 TD, and 0 Int in a loss. The Chiefs were down 21-0 to the Broncos at the end of the first quarter. That is just the third time in franchise history they have been shutout in the first quarter while allowing 21 points or more.

"We're 5-4 now," Chiefs center Casey Wiegmann said. "We blew a game in Houston. We blew a game in Oakland. We could be way out in front, but it's not what it is. We're tied for the AFC West [with the Raiders] and we have work to do."

While the Chiefs have fared well following a Straight Up loss recently, they have had a tough go of things as a favorite where they are 1-9-1 ATS in their last 11 games.
