The one team that the New England Patriots didn’t want to see in the playoffs is the Baltimore Ravens. The New England Patriots did beat the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC title game following the 2011 season thanks to a dropped pass but then next season it was the Baltimore Ravens winning 28-13.
The Ravens also won in the Wild Card game in the 2009 season. This will be the fourth time that the Baltimore Ravens will be visiting Gillette Stadium in the playoffs since 2009. Not many teams go into New England and win but the Baltimore Ravens have done it. The Patriots are 10-3 at home in the playoffs since 2002 but two of those three losses were to Baltimore.
The are 7-4 on the road in the playoffs under head coach John Harbaugh.
“To win on the road [in the playoffs], you’ve got to be on the road,” Harbaugh said, “We’ve had plenty of opportunities. I’m proud of our guys.” Our guys, we gave them a T-shirt this week: ‘Faith and Guts.’ I’d probably throw fortitude in there.”
