ESPN is reporting that a $623,142.25 bet on the Carolina Panthers to win Super Bowl 50 at one of the William Hill operated sportsbooks in Las Vegas.

According to that report, that huge wager was placed on the money line that was listed at -190 at the time.

Money line bets often entail a significant amount of risk for little return when it comes to backing favorites and this case is no exception to that rule.

The -190 odds mean that if Carolina beats Denver outright, the bettor will go home with a $327,969.60 profit, which is a little bit more than half of his or her initial wager.
