Carrie Stroup here and we are just learning from Darren Rovell of ESPN that 20% of the 2014 World Cup futures bets placed at Sportsbook.com are on Team USA.

The payout will be 200-1 but for Sportsbook.ag it’s pretty much like taking candy from a baby early on.  Team USA really does not stand a chance.

Sportsbook reps are confirming Rovell’s reporting and, to be honest, it’s pretty sick.  One would think that even Americans would be backing the likes of Brazil, Argentina, Germany and Spain….even England for that matter.

But hey, USA fans, before y’all start flooding my email box with hate mail, I’m not exactly alone in my assessment.

USA head coach Jurgen Klinsmann says: "I think for us now, talking about winning a World Cup is just not realistic."

So 20% of World Cup futures bettors essentially flushed their money down the toilet it seems.
