The afternoon games Wednesday feature Germany vs. Ghana where Germany is the big favorite and Ghana would pay a huge US$65 for every US$10 bet.  Germany was the -250 favorite with the draw paying better than 3/1 odds.

Meanwhile, Australia would pay US$42 for every US$10 bet should they manage a win over favored Serbia, which pays just better than even odds.  The draw had even odds in this matchup.

From the BBC: "Ghana have been the standard bearers in an otherwise disappointing World Cup so far for African sides. The Black Stars are on the brink of matching their achievement of 2006 and reaching the last 16, and could stop Germany from progressing from the group stage for the first time ever, which is no mean feat.

"Germany's performance in their opening game against Australia had everyone saying 'I told you so' as they again showed they save their best for the big stage. However, a strangely subdued display in a slow-paced encounter against Serbia has left them sweating on their progression from Group D. Coach Joachim Loew has promised that they will pick up the tempo when they face the Ghanaians as ‘fitness is written with a capital 'F' in the Germany squad.'"

Serbia comes into its game against Australia with strong morale having beaten the heavily favored German team.

Serbia and Germany were each getting 85 percent of the public backing in their respective games.
