England vs. USA latest World Cup odds had England at -200 odds at SBG Global. Team USA pays US$57 for every US$10 bet with a win. We had two draws during Day One of the 2010 World Cup.  The draw in the game would pay US$28 for every US$10 bet.

England vs. USA was seeing heavy betting action come in for the United States from US bettors despite their long odds.  Certainly most of the action coming in to British bookies was for England.

The US side was getting 70 percent of the backing in this matchup from US World Cup gamblers.

England may be favored in this match but the United States is actually given a chance to compete.  In past years, the U.S. team was pretty much ignored and thought of as inferior but not this time.  The United States has proven they can play with the best teams in the world as they beat Spain last year and nearly upset Brazil. The United States has some very good players including Landon Donovan, Tim Howard and Clint Dempsey. Four years ago the United States didn't make it out of the group stage but this is considered a better U.S. team.  The United States team is trying very hard not to get too high or too low for this match against England since the other two matches against Slovenia and Algeria will probably determine if they advance. The United States has played well in friendlies leading up to the World Cup while England has not. That may not matter much though since friendlies are really not a good indication of how teams will do in the World Cup.

England is one of the favorites to win the World Cup and they have one of the best scorers in the world in Wayne Rooney. They also have other superb players like Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard and John Terry. England has an excellent head coach in Fabio Capello and he will have his team ready. He has won a championship in almost half of his 16 seasons as a coach.  England will miss captain Rio Ferdinand but they have a lot of depth and should be fine.
