Dayton was down 17 points at one point against Nevada and managed to come back against Nevada.  The Flyers were 7-for-7 from the field, including 4-for-4 from 3-point range.  Now Dayton faces off against Arizona as a +9.5 dog

The Flyers then went on a 24-4 run to cap the largest comeback in the NCAA tournament since 2018, winning 63-60 at the Delta Center.

"I thought down the stretch we got in a rhythm where the guys understood how we wanted to attack them and how we needed to make plays for each other," Dayton coach Anthony Grant said. "You saw guys doing a good job attacking the rim, extra pass for 3s, ball being fed to Deuce (DaRon Holmes II) inside, him making plays himself or making plays for his teammates, which is really how we've played."

DaRon II Holmes, the Atlantic 10 player of the year, scored 18 points, including a three-point play with 2:01 remaining that gave Dayton its first lead since the first half.  He's coming in with an Over/Under scoring total of 19.5 for their Saturday game against Arizona.

Koby Brea finished with 15 points, a few above his 11.5 score total for Saturday's game.

“In those situations, it’s easy for somebody to try to, like, just get a home run play, try to make it happen by themselves,” Brea said. “In the situation we were in, I think we did a good job of just staying together and doing it together, taking it one possession at a time.”

Arizona crushed Long Beach State 85-65 Thursday.

Kylan Boswell scored 20 points for the second-seeded Wildcats (26-8), who made 13 3-pointers, the program record for March Madness.

The Wildcats also got 18 points and 11 rebounds from Caleb Love.

Arizona avoided a second straight first-round loss as a No. 2. Last year, Princeton upset the Wildcats in the opener.
