Gambling911.com Marketing: Madness, Poker Tournaments and Horses

With the March Madness Sweet 16 and Elite 8 concluded, Gambling911.com has seen some more exceptional search results.   For industry professionals, be sure to check out our Marketing section regularly here and if you wish to contact us, please do so here.  We are available 24/7.

Thankfully, Sweet 16 and Elite 8 indicate fewer teams and, as such, less games to cover as opposed to the 30 plus that our reporters and content providers were scrambling to publish ahead of the 2nd round of the Men’s NCAA Basketball Tournament.  It also means more quality (competitive) matchups and an increase in wagering/search inquires per game.

Sweet 16 Betting Lines – 2013 – Ranked 1 in Google.

Marquette vs. Miami Betting Line at Hurricanes -5.5 – Not ranked.

Arizona vs. Ohio State Betting Line, Prediction (Video) – Ranked 1 in Google.

Other websites that enjoyed top rankings for similar terms included SBNation.com, OddsShark.com, LatestBettingOdds.com, ibtimes.com, Vegas.com and BleacherReport.com.

Miami Heat Coverage – With Miami looking to break the all-time record for longest winning streak in the NBA, sports bettors had an attractive betting prop on which game the streak would ultimately end, courtesy of Sportsbook.com.  It happened in Chicago.  Gambling911.com ranked around the number 7/8 position in Google for “Miami Heat Win Streak Odds” while ranking higher for slight variations of this term.  We were actually a little surprised to see the amount of search competition here.  G911 did rank number 2 for “Heat vs. Bulls Betting Line” in Google and Yahoo.

Saturday’s Horse Races – Two key races leading up to the Kentucky Derby were held this past Saturday – The Florida Derby and the Louisiana Derby.  Gambling911.com ranked number 1 in Google, Bing and Yahoo for both races in terms of “betting odds” related content.  A quick little tidbit is that, while Yahoo and Bing drive significant traffic for sports betting on such things as the NFL and College Basketball, for whatever the reason, the search queries for weekly horse races via either search engine tends to be around 1/10 that of searches coming in from Google.  If the past is any indication, however, horse bettors will be searching Bing and Yahoo feverishly during the upcoming Kentucky Derby.

This Past Week’s Poker Tournaments – A few exciting poker tournaments took place over the past week.  Gambling911.com retains a significant poker readership base but these events do receive some interest via search inquiries and, in particular, via Twitter.

Daniel Cates Wins PartyPoker Premier League VI – This ranked a disappointing number 8 in Google but number 3 in Bing.  Dan Shak winning the Main Event performed even worse, failing to see any significant ranking.

On the other hand, “Dinesh Alt Wins ANZPT Season 5 Sydney” had Gambling911.com ranked number 5 in Google and number 3 in Google Australia.  “Mike Harris Wins Heartland Poker Tour Belterra 2013” drew the number 2 spot (with the HPT site itself ranked at a number 1).  For the 5 or 6 people searching for results from the WSOP Circuit Lodge Casino event, G911 ranked number one in Google for Allen Kessler’s win.

We were number 2 in Google for Rocco Palumbo winning the WPT Venice Grand 2013.  Incidentally, Phil Hellmuth’s grand entrance drew some decent size traffic, including through social media.

Gambling911.com also ranked number 5 in Google for the upcoming PartyPoker PokerFest 2013 Schedule and number 7 for the PokerStars new television ad featuring Rafa Nadal.
