Marquette will come into their second round game of the 2024 NCAA Men's College Basketball Tournament as a -3.5 favorite against Colorado.

Kam Jones is shooting 50.2% and averaging 17.1 points for the Golden Eagles. He comes into the game against Colorado with a 17.5 score total.

Jones scored 28 points in the not-so-easy 87-69 win against Western Kentucky Friday. The Golden Eagles (26-9) trailed 43-36 at halftime before going on a 15-2 run in the second half.

Marquette went 20 for 36 from the field in the final 20 minutes while shutting down the Hilltoppers with their stiffling defense. They committed just two turnovers during this period as well.

“That was happening in the first half because they were more aggressive than us,” Jones said. “Coach (Shaka Smart) told us before the second half that the more aggressive team is going to win the game, and we really wanted to come out and be aggressive on defense. That opened up a lot of stuff on offense.”

Tyler Kolek had 18 points and 11 assists against WKU, nearly three points more than his current posted prop scoring total for Sunday's game.

David Joplin is averaging 12.3 points over the last 10 games.

KJ Simpson averages 2.1 made 3-pointers per game for the Buffaloes, scoring 19.7 points while shooting 44.1% from beyond the arc. Against the Golden Eagles his prop scoring total not surprisingly comes in at 19.5.

It was his late jumper that propelled Colorado to a shock final second 102-100 victory over No. 7 Florida.

Nothing to see here really, according to Simpson, who played down the critical play.

“We always go through preparation with time and score, situations like that in practice, and it was just another one of those times,” Simpson said. “Obviously, it was a play that was set up for multiple actions out of it. I happened to break free, was looking to just drive and create something, whatever was the best lane, and noticed the defender got a little off balance. I just shot what I shoot a bunch of times.”

Tristan da Silva is shooting 52.0% and averaging 16.8 points over the last 10 games.  He comes into Sunday's game with a 15.5 scoring prop total.
