We’re about six weeks away from the start of college football and amazingly, the teams with the two highest odds to win the CFP Championship play in Week 1.
When the season ended last year, Ohio State was the favorite to bring home the title for a second straight year.
As we get closer to the season, Texas has overtaken the Buckeyes as the favorite.
"Outside of Clemson and Notre Dame, Texas has commanded the most preseason money to take home the 2026 CFP National Championship," BetOnline.ag Sportsbook Manger Adam Burns said. "There's obviously a ton of hype surrounding Arch Manning and this team coming into the season, and we only expect Longhorns wagering to ramp up as we get into August and September."
However, the Longhorns start the season off in Columbus as 2.5-point underdogs. In prior seasons, a loss in week one was a death knell. With the 12-Team Playoff, it’s been proven that you can even lose three games (see Clemson) and make the playoffs.
