College Football Betting Analysis - October 18, 2025
Today, October 18, 2025, we take an in depth look at some of the top games on our radar in which to consider betting.
Saturday October 18
Georgia Tech vs. Duke
Balanced action here with the number moving from Duke -2 to -3.
We get a line of Duke -4, indicating a bit of an underlay. Favorites are 81% in this line range with an underlay.
LSU vs. Vanderbilt
Balanced action here as well.
Interestingly, recreational book Bovada moved this number as high as -3 (favoring Vanderbilt) before dropping back to -2. BetOnline had also been holding at -2. They had been holding at -2.5 for a prolonged period of time. Pay Per Head platforms were also mostly featuring a line of -2 by Saturday morning.
We actually have the Tigers as a PICK'EM.
The dogs have had great success in his situation (81% based on our model).
The Action Network likes Vanderbilt here, perhaps just enough to keep us from pulling the trigger on LSU.
I've had the privilege of writing for the Action Network for several years now. If you've read any of my articles before this you know there's one truth about Action Analytics: We're Brian Kelly haters.
This has all the makeup of a Kelly choke job. This one is on the road, with high stakes, featuring a good opponent and a good squad with several key weaknesses.
I expect Vanderbilt to pounce on the Tigers, force them in a bunch of third-and-long situations, get the ball in good field position and finish drives with touchdowns.
Give me the Commodores to cover the spread.
Texas Tech vs. Arizona State
The line here has dropped from Red Raiders -10 to -7.5.
Action was 60% on Texas Tech.
Our number here is ASU +5.5.
The Action Network likes Arizona State.
With Leavitt trending towards playing on Saturday, I see enough value on Arizona State getting over a touchdown at home to roll with the Sun Devils on the spread.
I still like Texas Tech to win the game and view it as the better team, but this is a do-or-die spot for Arizona State after getting trounced last week by Utah and now welcoming its star quarterback back.
It should be a great atmosphere in Tempe, and Dillingham will have his team ready to go.
Texas Tech is balanced as any team in the conference, but this will be one of the more capable defenses it'll have faced to date, and I expect Arizona State to be flying around to the ball, particularly in the red zone.
The turnover battle will loom large, but I can't pass up the home team getting this many points in what should be a fun one on Saturday.

Saturday October 11
*Alabama vs. Missouri
The line has come down from Bama -3.5 to-3.
We get a number of Crimson Tide -3 with most of the public backing Alabama.
Our model does not give an edge for what was the most wagered on college football game Saturday early on.
*Oklahoma vs. Texas
The Longhorns opened as -2.5 favorites with the number dropping to -1 by Saturday morning. There were actually some wild fluctuations over the last 24 hours with the number moving between the -2 and Pick'EM. Oklahoma was seeing greater than 60% of the action as a +1 dog.
Our own number is Texas -7, indicating a significant underlay. These scenarios tend to bode quite well for the favorite.
Unfortunately, these wide discrepancies are not always the best games to back based on our own experience. A few top capping sites we follow like Oklahoma here.
*Michigan vs. USC
This one features two games with just one loss each.
The line has just sat at Trojans -2.5.
Our number is 3.5 for USC, which was seeing around 65% of the action.
Michigan won last year at home by three points.
We see USC winning by 3 points here and thus covering the 2.5 spread.
Friday October 10
South Florida vs. North Texas
We have a line of North Texas Mean Green -2.5.
There is a slight underlay here with our number coming in at 3.69.

Defensive coordinator Skyler Cassity has transformed the Mean Green’s defense. The 4-2-5 has looked elite. They lead the nation in PFF’s Tackling grades and rank eighth in PFF Coverage grades. Transfers Trey Fields (linebacker) and David Fisher (cornerback) have had massive impacts on the second and third levels.
The Mean Green are playing fast and decisive on defense. It’s a sophisticated scheme with sophisticated, veteran playmakers.
Underlays in the 2.5/3 range tend to provide favorites with an edge.
