Boise State a -23.5 Favorite Hosting San Diego State Friday

(October 30, 2024) - Boise State (6-1 SU, 4-2 ATS) had been a pretty steady -23.5 home favorite hosting San Diego State for Friday night's game.

The Aztecs come into this game 3-4 Straight Up and 4-3 Against The Spread.

All eyes on Ashton Jeanty this game.  He ran for 128 yards and a winning touchdown against UNLV last week with No. 17 Boise State beating that the Rebels 29-24.

 Jeanty's 1-yard TD run on fourth-and-goal with 12:38 left put the Broncos (6-1, 3-0 Mountain West) in front for good.

Maddux Madsen passed for 209 yards and a touchdown as Boise State kept alive it hopes of making the College Football Playoff. The Broncos are bowl eligible for the 27th consecutive season, the nation's second-longest active streak behind Georgia at 28. They also are 28-1 coming after off weeks since 2001.

“That UNLV team is legit,” Madsen said. “That defense played hard and fast until the end. We talked all week about how it was going to be a heavyweight fight. Their one loss was Syracuse in overtime. That game was going to be tough.”

Dillon Gabriel threw for 243 yards and two touchdowns for the Ducks (2-0), who trailed the Broncos (1-1) with 10 minutes left.

Last week, Oregon beat Idaho 24-14, another game that was closer than expected.

“As a team that’s finding our identity together, I think you see a bunch of guys being more and more connected as the weeks go on, through practice, through games,” Gabriel said. "And then you go through adversity and you find a way to win.”

Despite the struggles, Oregon extended its nonconference home winning streak to 34 games

Ashton Jeanty ran for 192 yards and three touchdowns for Boise State, which went into the game as 18 1/2-point underdogs but nearly pulled off the upset.
