Knicks-Cavs Game 5

The New York Knicks can close out their first-round Eastern Conference playoff series on Wednesday night when they face the Cleveland Cavaliers on the road in Game 5.  A win would give the Knicks their first playoff series victory in a decade.

In all three wins, New York has kept Cleveland to fewer than 100 points scored.

Jalen Brunson poured in 29 points and RJ Barrett supplied 26.

Cleveland will be a -5.5 favorite coming into this game.

The Knicks are 5-1-1 Against The Spread in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record, 16-5 ATS in their last 21 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600, 12-4-1 ATS in their last 17 games following a ATS win.

The Cavaliers are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 Conference Quarterfinals games.

Cavs vs. Knicks Game 4

(April 22, 2023) - The New York Knicks are now up 2-1 in their series versus the Cleveland Cavaliers.  The Knicks are now 5-1 in the last six games versus Cleveland.

"A lot of these guys are new here, but some of these guys know what it takes and they're not wavering at any point," Cavaliers veteran Danny Green said after the loss. "They know what we're capable of, they know what we can do.

"Everybody wants to win. Everybody's competing and wants to fix the mistakes right away. They want to play right now. Thankfully we have a quick turnaround. ... For these young guys, I think they're excited for the next step, the next challenge, and that's Game 4."

Josh Hart added 13 points for the fifth-seeded Knicks. Donovan Mitchell scored 22 points for the Cavs.

Cavs vs. Knicks Game 3

(April 20, 2023) - The series is split 1-1 heading into Game 3.  New York beat Cleveland by 17 points in Game 2 following a 4-point loss to the Cavaliers in Game 1.

Cleveland will come into Game 3 as a +2 underdog.  We get Cleveland 0.79.

Donovan Mitchell averaged 31.8 points in four games against the Knicks this season but has averaged just 23.5 points in this series thus far.

"Just do what we do," Mitchell said. "Don't make it too much. Don't make the moment too big. ... Just make the moment about what we do. Understanding that it's going to be loud, it's going to be crazy, it's going to be fun."

Darius Garland also starred in Cleveland's Game 2 win by scoring 26 of his 32 points in the first half.

"Everybody in the building told me to go be aggressive," Garland said. "‘Go shoot the ball.'"
