Hardly a Game of the Week here but this one is attractive to sports bettors like us, and in the end, that's all that really matters, right?

Nearly 80% of those betting the total are backing the UNDER.  While we don't typically like to jump on board with the public, the oddsmakers reaction suggests they could be right here.  That number has dropped from 41.5 to 40 at Circa.   Pinnacle, the sharpest of the sharp books, has also dropped the number to 40.  Bovada, appealing to the recreational gambler, has moved the number all the way down to 39.5 having had it as high as 41.5 and seemingly looking to attract OVER action.  FanDuel was at 40.5 Saturday morning.  Unibet briefly had the number as low as 37.

Pete Fiutak of College Football News writes that "Charlotte cannot score" and "the Pirate defense has’t been totally miserable, but it’s one of the few teams in America that’s more inefficient than Charlotte".

He adds: "ECU has more of a run defense and will be a bit more disruptive on the way to its first win over an FBS team. It won’t be pretty, but it’ll be happy to take it."

To suggest either team has anything to play for would be an overstatement as each has just one win.

Update: Wind was an impact in this game, as seen with the punting.
