Just days after the world’s largest sports betting company, Bwin, announced it has joined forces with publicly traded Manchester United as part of a sponsorship deal, two more betting firms have announced shirt sponsorships with Premier League football clubs.

Asian gaming company, Fun88.com, this week announced a strategic partnership with Tottenham Hotspur to become that football club’s Official Asian Betting and Gaming Partner.

Daniel Levy, Chairman, Tottenham Hotspur, said: "We are delighted that Fun88 will become an Official Club Partner. This is the first time the Club has signed a regional partnership in Asia and is largely down to the significant increase we have seen in the growth of our international fan base over the past few years.

“Over 60% of our global fan base comes from Asia and together with the Club’s reach through the Barclays Premier League broadcast platform, we are ideally placed to support Fun88’s continued growth in the Asian marketplace.”

Fun88.com founder Nick Lee added: “I am proud to announce Fun88’s partnership with Tottenham Hotspur, as the Club’s Asian betting and gaming partner. This partnership brings together one of Asia’s top online gaming companies and Tottenham Hotspur, one of the most exciting and attacking clubs in the English Premier League.

“We are looking forward to working with Club to launch a new bespoke betting microsite. We believe that our knowledge of developing fun, interactive and engaging gaming platforms will provide Tottenham Hotspur’s international fan base with an exciting, new gaming experience.”

News also surfaced around the same time that the United Kingdom’s third largest bookmaker, Paddy Power, has been named the official online betting partner for Everton FC throughout the UK and Ireland.  The deal will see Paddy Power’s product line sold on the Everton website at www.evertonfc.com.

Dave Biggar, Commercial Director at Everton Football Club, said: “Paddy Power has a fantastic track record in football and we look forward to being part of their portfolio.”

Paddy Power spokesperson said: “Both ourselves and Everton are passionate about entertaining and delivering for our fans and customers first and foremost. Our track record in pioneering the Money-Back Special at Paddy Power has seen us give millions back to punters over the years on refunded losing bets and we also often pay-out on bets when and where we feel it’s the right thing to do.

“We look forward to going over and above in both listening to and offering the best possible value to Everton supporters over the next couple of years and beyond.”
