Broncos vs. Chiefs Total Passing Yards Prop Bets: Bo Nix, Patrick Mahomes

OAKLAND PARK, Fla (Gambling911.com) - Passing yards prop bets are available for the Monday Night Football game between the Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs. You can open your online betting account with just an email.

Bo Nix started all 17 games for Denver last season. He completed 388 of 612 passes (63.4%) for 3,931 yards, 25 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, producing an 87.8 passer rating.

Nix finished eighth in the NFL in passing yards and tied for ninth in touchdown passes. Nix remained a significant rushing threat as well, carrying 83 times for 356 yards and five touchdowns. That gave him 4,287 combined passing/rushing yards and 30 total touchdowns.

Nix's numbers were somewhat uneven compared with his rookie season — his completion percentage, touchdown passes and passer rating did decline however.

Nevertheless, Nix did have much stronger performances, most notably versus Kansas City. He threw for 295 yards in the first meeting and had 182 passing yards plus 42 rushing yards and a rushing TD in the Christmas Day rematch.

Nix fractured his right ankle in the closing minutes of a playoff win over the Buffalo Bills, but Nix's teammates insist he is ready to face off against the Chiefs Monday night.

"I'm a little nervous for everybody else ... he's a competitor now,'' Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton said after Wednesday's practice. "He's like that, like a mountain lion in the zoo, that's like pacing. I saw a mountain lion at the Colorado zoo, and he was just pacing back and forth. I was like, 'Y'all don't want that boy to get out, because that's not going to be good.' That's what Bo reminds me of ... you can tell he's like, 'I'm ready to go do this.'"

Nix concurs with that assessment.

"Out here [in Colorado], there's different animals you can encounter, [and] I hear a lot of times it's mountain lions and bears you don't want to come across, so I guess that's a good comparison,'' Nix said. "The thing about mountain lions is usually when you notice them it's because they noticed you a long time ago. I'm just excited to get out there; I feel like I'm pacing, feel like I've been in this practice schedule a long time.''

Patrick Mahomes, meanwhile, suffered his own injury prior to the postseason.  He played in 14 games, completing 315 of 502 passes (62.8%) for 3,587 yards, 22 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, with an 89.6 passer rating. His per-game passing output actually remained substantial at about 256 yards per game.

"It's incredible," Chiefs general manager Brett Veach said of Mahomes exhaustive, day-after-day actions during his recovery process. "That's a guy that defines what leadership and what the face of a franchise should look like. He gave up an entire summer. He just attacked [the rehab]. Everybody in the building sees it. The level of sacrifice is something that has been an example throughout the entire organization."

Denver +2.5 is taking 69% of spread bets and 70% of the spread handle, versus only 31% of bets and 30% of money on Kansas City -2.5 well ahead of this game as of Monday morning.

The moneyline split is even more dramatic: Denver has 58% of bets but a whopping 81% of the money at +124. Kansas City has 42% of tickets but only 19% of money at -148.
