After months of former US President and likely GOP nominee Donald Trump leading in the general election polls, current US President Joe Biden has suddenly moved ahead in a new poll commissioned by Florida Atlantic University (FAU).

The odds haven't shifted as of yet.  Trump holds a lead of -120, Biden +120.

The survey was conducted between March 15 and 17, after Biden's widely heralded State of the Union.  It drew a massive audience and significant amount of wagering activity.

More specifically, the poll found that Biden was leading Trump by 2 percentage points among likely voters, with 47 percent saying they'd support the president if the election were held today and 45 percent choosing Trump.

The former President had previously led by three points.

Some of the more notable results of the poll included likely female voters supporting Biden at a 52 percent clip. This represented a 10-point increase from February's survey, where female voters were split 42-42 percent between Trump and Biden. In the more recent poll, only 38 percent of likely female voters said they would support Trump.

Trump did show improvement among likely male voters, with 51 percent saying they'd back him in the 2024 election.

The latest numbers come just as Trump has begun to suggest the 2024 election is already rigged.

From the Wall Street Journal:

“Too Big to Rig.” That is the phrase Trump began unveiling in recent weeks, including in an appearance in Greensboro, N.C. His campaign also has printed signs with the slogan to hand out to supporters. The idea behind the pitch is this: Trump needs a lead so large that no one can take it away.

“We want a landslide,” Trump said at the rally. “We have to win so that it’s too big to rig.”
