  • Indianapolis is a -9.5 favorite vs. the Giants on Sunday

  • Colts have won seven of their last eight games

  • Banged up Houston losing their last two and Colts winning last two means Indy wins division

  • Indy in if they win last two remaining or Ravens or Steelers drop one of their two remaining games

On paper at least the red hot Colts should easily be able to beat the New York Giants at home as a -9.5 favorite.  But we know how this season has gone thus far.

After stuggling the first part of this season, Indianapolis has managed to win seven of their last eight games.  The only loss over that span was a 0-6 shutout by the Jaguars on the road.  That particular loss makes it abundantly clear that the Colts winning here is not a given.

Should the Colts win their remaining two games they are essentially in.

The Texans will limp into Week 16 against the Eagles in critical condition.  Running back Lamar Miller, wide receiver Keke Coutee and nose tackle Brandon Dunn did not travel with the Texans to Philadelphia and have been ruled out for Sunday's game, the team announced.  This was enough to move the Week 16 line from Houston -1 to Philadelphia -2.5 and the betting public is all over the Eagles at that number.

Houston losing their last two games and Indianapolis winning theirs means that the Colts win the AFC South and move onto the Playoffs.

The Texans winning one of their remaining games doesn't knock the Colts out necessarily.  Indianapolis is in if the Steelers or the Ravens drop one of their final two games.

Colts.com also noted the following:  "With the Dolphins losing last weekend, they would not affect the Colts at 10-6. Whichever one of these two AFC North teams drops a game will vacate the sixth seed and the Wild Card spot of which the Colts would have outright ownership with two wins over the Giants and the Titans to close out the season."
