Gonzaga vs. Grand Canyon

The Zags will face No. 14 seed Grand Canyon in the first round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament.  Gonzaga opened as a -15.5 favorite.

The Antelopes had gone 24-11 on the season.

Bryce Drew now has five NCAA tournament appearances across three schools (Valparaiso, Vanderbilt and Grand Canyon), so this is not a team for Gonzaga to take lightly.

As for Gonzaga, this year's team has likely All-American Drew Timme (21.0 PPG, 7.4 RPG) and breakout forward Julian Strawther (15.3 PPG), but none of the high-ranking NBA prospects that backed this program's most fruitful seasons in recent years.

Not the Same 'Ol Zags....But

Gonzaga is hardly the scary team they were just two years ago when the Zags made it all the way into the Final Four and became tournament runner-ups.  That's not to say they aren't good.  They had the 9th shortest odds to win the 2023 NCAA College Basketball Championship.
