29-4 Wichita State meets 27-8 Kansas with a betting line of -1.5 Jayhawks. This game will gain national attention for sure but all the households throughout the great state of Kansas are going to be tuned in.
This is the first time in 23 years that these two schools will face off against one another. This is due to the Jayhawks' stubborn refusal to schedule the Shockers, and now they don’t have a say in the matter.
"It would be a big game for our state," Jayhawks coach Bill Self said, "without question."
The Shockers can only hope history does not repeat itself as they lost that game 103-54.
Kansas routed New Mexico State on Friday with a final score of 75-56. Kansas' effective field goal percentage (63.0%) was its third highest this season.
The Shockers got past Indiana with a 5-point victory Friday. Wichita State Coach Greg Marshall has won five of six against Big Ten opponents in his eight years at WSU, with three of those wins coming in the postseason.
Shockers are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 NCAA Tournament games but are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 non-conference games.
The Jayhawks are 8-3 Against The Spread in their last 11 non-conference games but are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS win.
