Texas welcome sign

Texas is well represented in this year's NCAA Men's College Basketball Tournament for March Madness.  And here is some great news, plenty of gambling sites are accessible from the state.  Texas, we should note, does not regulate sports betting at this time.

Texas Representation on the 2026 NCAA Men's College Basketball Tournament (March Madness)

  • Houston Cougars
  • Texas Tech Red Raiders
  • TCU Horned Frogs
  • Texas A&M Aggies
  • Texas Longhorns
  • SMU Mustangs
  • McNeese Cowboys

Houston received an at-large bid to the tournament from the Big 12 Conference.  They are the No. 2 seed in the South Region of the bracket and will face the Idaho Vandals in the first round of the tournament.  The Cougars are a big -23.5 favorite in this one.

The Arizona Wildcats deprived Houston of the No. 1 seed.

After scoring 38 points combined against Kansas in the semifinals on Friday night, Kingston Flemings had eight points and was just 3-of-12 shooting.

Texas Tech is a No. 5 seed playing the Akron Zips.  The Red Raiders are a -7.5 favorite.

As a No. 9 seed, TCU is a +2.5 dog facing off against Ohio State. They were an at-large selection.

Texas A&M is a No. 10 seed and a +2.5 dog going up against. Saint Mary's.  This will be their 4th consecutive appearance in the tournament.

"We need everybody there," Aggies head coach Bucky McMillan said of the A&M fanbase. "You don't get many chances to rally around a group like this, and it's tournament play, there's nothing greater than the NCAA Tournament."

The Texas Longhorns are a -1.5 favorite vs. NC State in the first round.  They had to go through the First Four play-in round.

The SMU Mustangs men's basketball earned an automatic bid to the 2026 NCAA Tournament by winning the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Tournament.

SMU is a -6.5 favorite in the first round facing off against Miami Ohio.

And finally, after failing to qualify last year having made an appearance in 2024,  the McNeese Cowboys are back in this year's tournament.
