Iowa will enter this game on a sour note, having lost six of their final eight games including a loss to Illinois in their first game in the Big Ten Tournament.  They only covered the spread in one of their final eight games.

''Toward the end, I think the Big Ten season really started to wear on us,'' Hawkeyes leading scorer Jarrod Uthoff said. ''Day in and day out, you're playing great teams. It's not like you're playing poor competition. Losing to those good teams, I think it's a good experience for us, and I think we'll bounce back in this tournament.''

Coach Fran McCaffery had this to offer: ''I think that's as a good explanation as any,'' he said. ''But I'm a little more pragmatic. When I look at it, we pretty much lost to good teams. We lost to some teams that we were probably supposed to beat on paper. You lose on the road to Penn State, Malcolm Hill hit a big time step back jumper and you lose a two-point game against Illinois. Those are things that happen in the Big Ten.''

For the season, the Hawkeyes finished 21-10 Straight Up and 14-14 Against The Spread.

Temple is 21-11 Straight Up with an Against The Spread record of 17-13.  The Owls are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 vs. the Big Ten.

Here is an interesting stat: Temple has gone 14-3 ATS in their last 17 games following a double-digit loss at home.
