The Gators finished the regular season with a 32-2 record after just narrowly escaping with a 61-60 win against Kentucky heading into the tournament selection process. In the SEC, Florida remains perfect.
Florida (32-2) built a 16-point lead early in the second half, but Kentucky nearly pulled off an improbable comeback to hand the Gators their first loss since early December.
At the time this article was going to press, Florida was expected to be named the overall number one seed in this year’s tournament.
