Utah Jazz vs. San Antonio Spurs odds opened at Jazz -6 and slipped a half point at SBG Global to -5 ½.  The betting action on this game was even, however, money line action was extremely skewed in favor of the Jazz paying close to 2/1 odds

This one goes off Wednesday, 8:05 pm Eastern - ESPN

If the Utah Jazz want to make the playoffs this NBA betting season they need to start winning on the road. Utah will get a chance to do that on Wednesday night as they visit the San Antonio Spurs in a game that can be seen on ESPN. The Jazz are 23-18 overall but just 7-12 on the road. That is simply not going to get it done in a very competitive Western Conference. "We need to figure out some way to win more games on the road," head coach Jerry Sloan said. "That's one of the biggest things. If you are going to be in the playoffs and you aren't gonna have homecourt advantage you better figure out how to win some games on the road."

Part of the problem for Utah on the road has been turnovers. They committed 20 in a loss at Denver on Sunday.  Point guard Deron Williams had five of them. "You just have to settle down," Williams said, "Personally, I have to stop making the long-court passes right now with my wrist the way it is, because it's hard to get them there," he said. "So I just have to compensate for that."  The Jazz continue to get rattled on the road and that is a major problem. "As a team, we have to settle down. Stay in our offense. When we get a little flustered, we start speeding up and getting out of our offense. That's when we turn the ball over." Williams added.

While the Jazz have not won on the road they have been competitive.  They are 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 NBA betting road games. The Jazz are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 vs. the Southwest Division. They have not done well at San Antonio though as they are 5-16 ATS in the last 21 meetings in San Antonio.

The Spurs are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 vs. the Northwest. The home team in this series is 20-6 ATS in the last 26 meetings.

The Over is 4-1 in Utah's last 5 overall. The Over is 27-11-1 in Utah's last 39 games as a road underdog. The Over is 9-4 in Utah's last 13 vs. the Southwest. The Under is 5-1 in the Spurs last 6 overall. The Over is 8-1 in the last 9 meetings in San Antonio between the Jazz and Spurs.
