Sportsbook.com today released odds on who will be the next LA Lakers head coach with a three-way horse race between John Calipari, Tom Thibodeau and Kevin Ollie as the favorites at 4/1 odds.
Byron Scott is considered by some to be a frontrunner, however, his odds were double that of the aforementioned individuals.
Mike D’Antoni has agreed to resign as head coach of the Lakers, a team that failed to make the Playoffs this year.
It’s probably the first time that other Los Angeles franchise, the Clippers, have stolen away the spotlight in more ways than one. The Clippers were a good team during the regular season and made the Playoffs. Then along came a recording of team owner Donald Sterling engaged in a racial rant that has thrown the franchise into complete turmoil.
But let’s face it: Even with the Clippers playing well in recent seasons, they’ve never been a conversation piece until now.
