The Rutgers vs. Purdue betting odds had the Boilermakers a big -17.5 favorite after opening at -19.

Purdue is ranked #14 in the nation and with good reason.  Not only have they only lost five games so far, they are an impressive 14-7-1 Against The Spread.

The Boilermakers demolished Rutgers last season as a -21 point favorite.  In their two previous games against the Scarlett Knights, Purdue won by much closer margins but the spread was not quite as large in those games either.

Rutgers has only won two of its last ten games overall.  We should warn, however, that only two of those were lost by more than the current line of -17.5.

As a road underdog of 15.5 to 18 points, Rutgers has not covered in five games over the last three seasons.   They are 0-17 Straight Up when the line has fallen within that range since 1992.

The Scarlet Knights are 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games as an underdog of 13.0 or greater and 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600.

The Boilermakers are 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 games as a home favorite.
