Odds to Win the 2011 NCAA Basketball Championship

Odds to win the 2011 NCAA Basketball Championship had the Ohio Buckeyes as favorites at +350, which would pay out $35 for every $10 bet and $350 for every $100 bet.

"I think Ohio State is the best team," ESPN analyst Jay Bilas said last week. But not unbeatable, as Wisconsin and Purdue proved in a span of eight days.

The Buckeyes also have the misfortune of being placed in the toughest bracket.

"There's four legit national champion contenders in the same bracket," said Mike Colbert, who runs books at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, M Resort, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and Tropicana. "Ohio State, North Carolina, Syracuse and Kentucky. It's a loaded bracket. It doesn't make any sense."

Another top seed, Duke, pays $450 for every $100 bet.  Duke had been the favorite to win up until Selection Sunday.

There are injury concerns still surrounding Duke standout Kyrie Irving.

“He’s a great asset to our team,” the junior forward Miles Plumlee said of Irving. “But I don’t know if people forgot, you know, we won it last year without Kyrie. Nolan and Kyle were a huge part of that, and everyone else got a lot better, so, you know, we’d love to have him back, but we got all the pieces to get it done.”

Another number one seed, Kansas, comes in with +450 odds

Pittsburgh is another team expecting to make the Final Four with a payout potential of $800 on every $100 bet should they win the 2011 NCAA Basketball Championship.

"I think we're going to make this run in the NCAA tournament and bring it back to the city of Pittsburgh,” said Ashton Gibbs, Pittsburgh’s leading scorer.  “We're going to get to the Final Four this year. It's motivation to get that Final Four. It's something we're going to do. I'm just telling you, that's what we're going to do this year. We're going to get to the Final Four."

Klay Thompson Next Team Odds

Tuesday night was likely Klay Thompson's last game as a Golden State Warrior.  Next stop?  Orlando, assuming the oddsmakers are correct.
