Notre Dame (30/1 odds to win the NCAA Championship) stamped its ticket into the Sweet 16 with a 25-9 record while continuing to rattle the books with a sizzling 18-10-1 record Against The Spread.  They failed to cover in the first round however.

The Irish only beat Princeton by two points Thursday.

The Fighting Irish (26-9) nearly squandered an 11-point second half lead. Guard Matt Farrell scored 16 points, but missed the front end of a one-and-one with Notre Dame up 59-58.

Spencer Weisz led the Tigers with 15 points. The Ivy League champion Tigers (23-7) had a 19-game winning streak going into the NCAA Tournament.

Notre Dame has covered in 60 percent of their last ten games.

West Virginia (25/1 odds to win the NCAA Championship), meanwhile, beat Bucknell 86-80 to advance, but the Mountaineers acknowledged they could have played better.

''We've got to get our heads right and play defense like we know how to,'' said Nathan Adrian, who scored 12 points and had 10 rebounds.. ''We've got to play a little better defense, but we'll fix it.''

The Mountaineers held a record three games below the .500 mark Against The Spread and have covered in only two of their last ten games overall.

These teams last met back in 2012, twice during the month of February, with Notre Dame winning in both.

The UNDER is 15-1 in the last 16 meetings with a total of 145.5.

For whatever the reason, West Virginia is 1-9 ATS in their last 10 Saturday games.
