NC State vs. Seton Hall Betting Line, March Madness Preview

The North Carolina State vs. Seton Hall betting line had the Pirates as a -2 favorite.  The College Basketball Betting Power Ratings suggest the line should be Seton Hall -3. 

The Pirates are still on the hunt for the program's first NCAA tournament victory in over a decade and this will be their third consecutive appearance.

They went 21-10 Straight Up and sit at the .500 mark Against The Spread.  They only won four of their last ten games though they covered the spread in their last five.

Seton Hall ranks 29th in the nation in offensive rebounding rate, grabbing 34 percent of its own misses.  In Big East play, Seton Hall created turnovers at the lowest rate in the conference and have not had a dominating defense.   They have been especially susceptible to high-tempo offenses with good spacing.

This could prove to be a problem playing NC State in the first round.

Bill Doherty of ESPN.com writes of the Wolfpack:

The Wolfpack roster features more tough guards than most teams, led by the 6-foot-3 Freeman (a graduate transfer from Baylor) and the uber-athletic Dorn. Both are capable of scoring 20 points whenever they step on the floor. NC State often plays four guards at once, along with the team's vastly improved big man, 7-footer Yurtseven, a 2018 third-team All-ACC selection.

NC State managed to topple three top-10 fixtures in Arizona, Duke, and North Carolina.

They have a 21-10 record Straight Up and sit at the .500 mark Against The Spread.  They have won and covered in six of their last ten games.

It's easy to see the Wolfpack pulling off the victory here even though the published line tends to work in Seton Hall's favor on paper.
