Lakers vs Suns latest odds were available from Sportsbetting.com.   The Lakers were a  -7 ½ favorite coming into Wednesday's Game 5

The Phoenix Suns evened up their Western Conference Finals with the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night, but is this a matter of the Suns figuring out a way to slay the dragon or is this a matter of the Champs just being a bit disinterested?

For the most part, it looks like more of the latter. A quick peak into sportsbook indicates that the odds makers are still heavily favoring the Lakers to win the series at -360.

The Lakers owned the Suns through two games, averaging 126 points per game through the first two contests and shooting a ridiculous 58% from the field. In Games 3 and 4, the Suns made an adjustment on defense and switched to the zone, which then shaved nearly 20 points off the Lakers points per game average and also dropped their field goal percentage to about 48%.

As the series flips back to Los Angeles, did the Lakers simply take two games off or did the Suns figure them out?

The Lakers were lackadaisical in the paint in Games 3 and 4 after owning it in Games 1 and 2, which is usually a key indicator of effort. After Andrey Bynum, Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom dominated in the first two games, they weren't as motivated in Phoenix for some reason - similar to their opening round series against Oklahoma City.

Another key indicator of effort is the free throw line, which general display how much a team is willing to take it to the basket and take that extra punishment when necessary. In Games 1 and 2, the Suns had a 58-56 edge in attempts. In Games 3 and 4, the Suns had a 74-33 edge.

With Games 5 and 7 at home, it's hard to envision the Lakers losing this series, especially given how they have dominated at home in this matchup already. Look for their big men to show up in a big way - pardon the pun - in Game 5 and for the Lakers to put the pressure back on the Suns for Game 6.

The Lakers won Games 1 and 2 because of their flat-out dominance and they lost Games 3 and 4 because they didn't give their best effort. If you're a betting man, take the Lakers at -360 on the series and don't be shy to bet them on the moneyline for Game 5 as well.
