Fresh off throttling the Minnesota Timberwolves a few nights ago, the Lakers now host Sacramento with revenge on their minds.

Belmont line and total: L.A -10 and 195.5

It is a rare thing for L.A. to want to revenge a past loss to Sacramento but after losing 100-91 on the second day of the season to the Kings, which is precisely the scenario L.A is in tonight. That was a very tough scheduling spot for the Lakers as they had just battled with the Bulls a day prior and since the season was just starting, the old Lakers were nowhere near game shape. The young Kings took advantage of it early on and never looked back.

Tonight it is the Kings who are coming off a game the night before as they were beat at home by L.A’s “other team.” That loss snapped a two-game winning streak for the Kings who are likely in over their heads tonight.

Sacramento is 4-5 ATS this year when playing the back end of a back-to-back scenario but it is those 5 ATS losses that are a cause for concern for Kings fans tonight. In those five games, the Kings lost by 22 to Portland, 27 to Denver, 39 to Dallas, 33 to Memphis and 15 to New York. All five were on the road and all were against quality teams like the Lakers.  Those 4 ATS wins can be overlooked tonight because they came against teams like Milwaukee, Toronto, Minnesota and New Orleans; four teams that are at the bottom of the standings and simply aren’t at a comparable level to the Lakers.

Those bad losses can tell a lot about a team in a situation like this because the Kings find themselves as double digit underdogs tonight and are likely to struggle. In that prior win vs. the Lakers, Sacramento shot 50% from 3-point land and 47% for the game, two numbers that will dramatically decrease tonight.

Kobe and company know that with the trade deadline approaching quick, now is the time to make their run and get their A-game fine-tuned for another championship run.  They are 6-0 ATS in their last six as home favorites and that includes a 5-0 ATS mark against bad road teams that lose away from home 60% of the time. History tells us that Sacramento is primed to get blown out badly tonight, making the Lakers the obvious play.

Lay the -10 with the Lakers.
