Atlanta Hawks 2-3 ATS on the Road in the Playoffs
The Hawks were a really good road team during the regular season against the spread as they went 24-15-2 but in the playoffs they are just 2-3 against the NBA Playoff point spread. They failed to cover two of three in Brooklyn and they were 1-1 in Games 3 and 4 in Washington in this series. And they were fortunate to cover Game 4 as they hit a couple of late free throws. The Hawks are not a typical top seed and they continue to be overrated against the NBA betting point spread. The team averages 102 points per game and allows 97 per contest. What has happened with the Hawks on the road is that they are going over the total. Games 3 and 4 in Washington both went over the basketball betting number.
Washington Wizards Hoping Wall Can Play
The Wizards really need John Wall to play effectively if they are to win this series. It was thought Wall was out for the rest of the playoffs with five non-displaced fractures in his non-shooting hand but the swelling has gone down and he might return. The Wizards were 5-0 with Wall in the playoffs before game five and 1-2 without him. "We've seen him out there dribbling a little bit, handling the ball, taking jump shots (in practice)," guard Garrett Temple said. "If he's not able to play, just keep fighting, try to get another win and prolong that process for him."
