Gonzaga Heads to the Final Four But Deliver Another Victory for Bookies

The Gonzaga Bulldogs – an amazing 23-9-2 Against The Spread – may have given bookies heartburn during the regular season, but thus far during their March Madness run, it’s the sports bettors who are getting beaten up.

Bookies offering LIVE IN-PLAY WAGERING throughout the tournament aren’t just winning on Gonzaga, they should be making an absolute killing despite the Zags heading to the national championship game Monday.

Since March 6, the Zags have gone 2-5 Against The Spread.  Over the past five games, officially kicking off March Madness, they are 1-4 ATS.

Gonzaga's first Final Four in program history will be followed by its first national championship game on Monday where the Bulldogs hope to pay out $600 for every $100 bet on them to win the National Championship at the beginning of this year’s March Madness frenzy.

The Zags just narrowly escaped with a 77-73 victory following a second half surge by South Carolina, a team nobody expected to make the Final Four.  The Gamecocks actually lead at one point 67-65 with 7:06 left via a 16-0 run.

The Zags scored their 77 points in 69 possessions.  They had more paint points in the first 30 minutes of the game than Carolina had allowed per game (22.5) in the tournament to date.

The win by Gonzaga ended up being another failed cover as they entered this game as a 6-point favorite on the spread.
