The Vegas sportsbooks and those online all breathed a collective sigh of relief following Cinderella team Florida Gulf Coast elimination in this past week’s Sweet 16.

"They've been by far the most popular team," LVH Super Book assistant manager Jeff Sherman said in a telephone interview with the Daily Freeman just prior to their elimination. "We opened them at 100-1 on Monday and they're down to 60-1. They have four times as many tickets as the second- closest teams, Oregon and Kansas."

And more good news as both those teams were also eliminated.

Of course there were plenty of early future wagers placed on the March Madness darling and overall number one seed Louisville Cardinals, who will play in the Final Four this coming weekend.  That won’t bode well for the books should they win the championship.

Louisville is a -10.5 favorite vs. Wichita State Saturday with balanced action on both sides.
