Celtics vs. Cavs

The Celtics vs. Cavs odds opened at Cleveland -7 ½ with the line dropping to -7 at Sportsbetting.com prior to game time (see website here).  This line was pretty steady across the board.

The Celtics were predicted by a lot of handicappers to not only struggle in their first round match-up with the Heat, they picked them to lose outright.

Well not only did the Celtics not struggle, but apart from an amazing performance by the Heats Dwyane Wade, it's safe to say that the Celtics dispatched the Heat with little effort. In fact, the Celtics almost looked bored at times during the series.

Despite the listless play, the Celtics sent the Heat packing in 5 games, and got themselves a decent amount of rest.

A Series that did go almost exactly as predicted saw the Cleveland Cavaliers defeat the Chicago Bulls in 5 games with little effort. Unlike the Celtics, the Cavs looked possessed in their first round series. MVP Lebron James was dominating, and as a whole, the Cavaliers looked energized and down right feisty.

That would explain the current Celtics vs. Cavs series futures at -450 for the #1 overall seed Cleveland squad, putting the Celtics at +325 to upset the Cavs.

Pundits are expecting a war in this series, with the very physical Celtics team poised to throw a ton of bodies at Lebron James in an attempt to slow him down. The Celtics have bodies to spare defensively, but stopping James is never an option, the strategy is only to contain him.
