The Cleveland Cavs odds to win the 2015 NBA Championship were being held at just under 4-1 at Sportsbook.ag even with rumors of a Minnesota trade of star forward Kevin Love to the team.

Indeed it’s a good time for Cavaliers backers to place their future wager on the team as Love landing in Cleveland would likely result in at least a one-point or greater slashing of their odds.  Some have  suggested their odds could be taken all the way down to near EVEN. Cleveland is the frontrunner to get Love.

Tyler Conway of the Bleecher Report explains what impact Love joining the Cavs might have on that franchise and its title hopes.

Whether it makes the Cavs a title favorite this year is another question entirely. A LeBron-Love-Kyrie Irving rio is the best offensive Big Three in basketball. The Thunder have a more well-rounded group, but one could easily start making the case for Cleveland.

David Blatt might have to fan himself off with the passing level in his starting lineup. Love and LeBron are the best passers at their respective positions.

The Clippers are probably the only team that could keep up with Cleveland possession for possession. Blatt's system is tailored to highlight intelligent players, and the Cavs might break basketball in small-ball lineups featuring Love at center and James at power forward.

The Cavaliers odds of winning the 2015 NBA Championship were reduced dramatically after it was announced last month that Lebron James would be returning to his home city in a two-year deal.
